Reach Active Has a New Home: The 4F Centre!

Reach Active Moves to the 4F Centre; Strengthening Youth Work in Rainhill!

We’re delighted to share that Reach Active, our Sport England–funded movement and youth engagement project, will now be based at the 4F Centre in Rainhill.

This move marks an exciting step forward for the project and for youth provision in the village, giving young people a safe, welcoming, and consistent space to take part in movement-based activities, connect with trusted youth workers, and access support when they need it most.

About Reach Active

Reach Active is a youth-led, movement-based project funded by Sport England’s Movement Fund and made possible by National Lottery players. The project brings together:

  • Detached youth work

  • Inclusive physical activity

  • Mental health–informed practice

  • Young people’s voices at the centre

Our aim is simple:
To create safe, trusted spaces where 11–18-year-olds feel seen, supported, and connected; while boosting physical wellbeing through fun, low-barrier movement.

Why We’re Moving to the 4F Centre

The 4F Centre gives us:

  • Indoor space for movement and wellbeing activities

  • A consistent base where young people know they can find us

  • A warm, safe environment during the winter months

  • Opportunities to offer more structured activities and small-group sessions

  • A place young people can shape and take pride in

This aligns perfectly with our “clinically informed, informally delivered” youth work approach; meeting young people where they are, but also creating spaces for them to grow.

Our Enhanced Detached & Centre-Based Approach

Every Reach Active session will continue to include:

  • Movement and informal sport, chosen and shaped by young people

  • Mental health–aware conversations led by trained youth workers

  • Opportunities to build confidence, belonging, and resilience

  • Zero cost, zero kit, no booking required

Young people have already told us they want more space, more consistency, and more to do. this move allows us to give them exactly that.

Sustaining Reach Active: How You Can Help

The Sport England grant funds the project for six months. To keep it going, and expand it, we are now seeking community support.

🧡 Crowdfunder Support

We’re raising funds to keep these sessions running in 2025.
Every single £1 donated goes directly into youth provision.

💙 Local Business Sponsorship

We are also inviting local businesses to sponsor the project.
Sponsorship helps cover:

  • Session resources and equipment

  • Movement activities

  • Food and refreshments

  • Trips and enrichment opportunities

In return, businesses will be recognised across banners, posters, digital platforms, and youth engagement materials.
