About REACH
Reach Rainhill C.I.C. (REACH) is a not-for-profit, clinically informed youth organisation working across St Helens.
We exist because too many young people fall between systems; not meeting thresholds for statutory support, yet carrying real risk, distress, or disconnection. We believe young people deserve to be seen, heard and supported before they reach crisis; especially those least likely to ask for help.
Founded in Rainhill by professionals with deep experience in youth work, mental health, SEND and community safety, Reach was built from the ground up through consistent presence, trusted relationships and local legitimacy. What began as detached youth work on local streets has grown into a multi-ward delivery model supporting young people, families, partners and communities.
Our work is both relational and rigorous; grounded in youth work values and strengthened by clinical oversight, safeguarding expertise and partnership coordination.
We meet young people where they are; physically, emotionally and socially.
That means:
• Being present in streets, parks, estates and town centres
• Creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people can belong
• Working alongside partners to reduce risk, not escalate it
• Holding safeguarding and wellbeing at the centre of everything we do
We prioritise relationships first, enforcement last, safety always.
Our delivery is organised through three connected strands:
Reach Out ; Detached Youth Work
Street-based and public-space youth work delivered evenings and weekends across St Helens.
Focused on early intervention, ASB reduction, harm reduction and trusted-adult presence.
R Space ; Safe, Inclusive Youth Spaces
Open-access youth sessions offering consistency, belonging and positive activity.
SEND-inclusive, clinically supported and shaped by youth voice.
Reach In ; Clinical, SEND & Therapeutic Support
Creative therapeutic engagement, SEND-informed practice, parent navigation and sibling support.
Underpinned by clinical oversight, reflective supervision and system advocacy.
Across all strands we provide:
• Trauma-informed, SEND-inclusive practice
• Safeguarding and risk escalation pathways
• Reflective supervision and workforce support
• Youth voice, insight and learning
• Partnership and MDT coordination
We don’t offer quick fixes or one-off interventions.
We offer:
• Consistency ; showing up week after week
• Trust ; built through time and reliability
• Inclusion ; open-access, non-judgemental provision
• Professional care ; clinically informed and safely delivered
• Learning ; capturing insight to improve systems, not just sessions
Sometimes that means engaging 30–40 young people in a busy session.
Sometimes it means sitting quietly with one young person who needs someone to listen.
Both matter.

Reach is growing in response to trust, evidence and local need.
We are working toward:
• Sustainable, borough-wide youth infrastructure
• Stronger early-help and prevention pathways
• Reduced pressure on policing and statutory services
• Safer public spaces for young people and communities
• A replicable, trauma-informed delivery model
As we grow, we remain rooted in the same principle we started with:
Walking alongside young people with compassion, purpose and professional care; helping them thrive, and helping their communities value them.
