Who We Are & Why We Care
“Standing beside young people, in the heart of the community.”

Reach Rainhill C.I.C is a not-for-profit youth organisation with a simple but powerful belief:
That every young person deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported; not only when they ask for help, but especially when they don’t.

Founded in Rainhill by experienced professionals with deep roots in youth work, mental health, and local community life, our work is both personal and purposeful. We’ve seen first-hand how isolation, unmet emotional needs, and a lack of safe spaces can impact young people. We’ve also seen what’s possible when someone shows up with consistency, listens without judgment, and genuinely cares.

That’s what Reach Rainhill is about.
We deliver community-rooted, youth-led support that meets young people on their terms through three core project strands:
Reach OUT: Detached youth work in public spaces offering early support, signposting, and a trusted presence where young people already spend time.
Reach Ready: Practical life skills, confidence building, and emotional readiness for life transitions; from education to employment, sports pathways, or community leadership.
Reach Active: Positive activities that bring young people together through sport, creative arts, and social action; building connection, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

What We Do:
Detached Youth Work: Regular outreach in streets, parks, and community spaces, connecting with young people in real-time, with real presence.
Mental Health-Informed Support: Delivered by professionals who blend youth work values with clinical insight.
Skills & Readiness: Helping young people build practical skills and confidence for their next steps in life.
Positive Activities: Sport, creative projects, and social action opportunities designed to inspire and include.
Partnership Working: Collaborating with schools, CAMHS, sports clubs, the parish council, police, and others to create joined-up pathways of care.
Community Building: Events and intergenerational projects that bring people together, reduce stigma, and celebrate youth potential.
Championing Youth Voice: In everything we do, young people’s views and lived experience shape how we plan, deliver, and evolve.

We don’t offer a quick fix; we offer trust, consistency, and care.
Our long-term ambition is to expand across the wider St Helens area; always rooted in the voices of the young people we serve.

Whether we reach 20 young people on a busy evening, or sit quietly with one in crisis; our mission remains the same:

To walk alongside young people with compassion, purpose, and professional care; helping them thrive, and helping their community value them.
