Who We Are & Why We Care
”Standing beside young people, in the heart of the community”
Reach Rainhill C.I.C. is a not-for-profit community organisation built on a simple but powerful belief: that every young person deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported - not only when they ask for help, but even (and especially) when they don’t.
Founded in Rainhill by experienced professionals with deep roots in youth work, mental health, and the local area, our work is personal. We’ve seen first hand the challenges young people face - from isolation and unmet mental health needs to the way they are often misunderstood in their communities. We also know how powerful it can be when someone shows up consistently, listens without judgment, and genuinely cares.
That’s what Reach Rainhill is about.
We provide youth-led, street-based outreach that meets young people on their terms — in the parks, streets, and spaces where they naturally spend time. Our team brings both professional experience and lived insight, blending trusted mental health-informed practice with the values of strong, ethical youth work.
We’re here to be:
• A trusted presence in local public spaces
• A bridge to services that young people may not otherwise access
• A champion of youth voice in local decisions
• A connector between generations and communities
What We Do:
• Detached Youth Work – Regular outreach sessions, engaging with young people in the spaces they already use
• Mental Health-Informed Support – Signposting and early guidance from professionals who understand young people’s emotional world
• Partnership Working – Collaborating with schools, the parish council, police, and local services to coordinate better support
• Community Building – Hosting events and conversations that break down barriers between generations and foster local pride
We don’t offer a quick fix. What we offer is presence, consistency, and care. Our long-term ambition is to expand our reach and work across Rainhill, Whiston, Prescot, and wider St Helens, always guided by what young people tell us they need.
Whether we speak to 20 young people in a night or quietly support just one in making a positive decision, our mission remains the same:
To walk alongside young people with compassion, professionalism, and purpose - helping them thrive, and helping the community better understand them.
