“Empowering young people,
Strengthening communities.”
Reach Rainhill C.I.C. offer Clinically informed, informally delivered youth work, rooted in Rainhill and growing across St Helens.
We work with young people aged 11–18 through detached outreach and centre-based provision, meeting them where they are and building trust through consistency, inclusion and relationships. Our work sits between policing and statutory early help, supporting safer public spaces and better outcomes for young people.
How Reach began; and how it’s grown
Reach Rainhill started in Rainhill as detached youth work, built through consistent presence, local trust and community backing. What began on the streets grew into weekly Friday night provision at the 4F Centre, now welcoming around forty young people each week.
As trust, evidence and partnerships developed, our work expanded.
We now deliver commissioned detached youth work in St Helens Central, supporting community safety and positive engagement in public spaces. In Parr, we provide a clinically informed coordination role, supporting youth MDT working, referrals and partnership-led delivery.
Each stage of growth has been shaped by local need and learning, with further wards planned as capacity and partnerships allow.
What we do
Our approach is clinically informed and informally delivered, combining youth work values with strong safeguarding and early intervention practice.
We provide:
Detached youth work in streets, parks and town centres
Centre-based youth provision, including weekly Friday sessions in Rainhill
Trauma-informed and SEND-inclusive practice
Clinical oversight, reflective practice and risk escalation
Partnership coordination, working alongside police, schools, health and community organisations
We reduce pressure by building relationships, not enforcement.
Where we work
Our delivery has grown in response to trust, demand and partnership:
Rainhill ; where Reach began; detached outreach and Friday night youth sessions at the 4F Centre
St Helens Central ; commissioned weekly detached youth work supporting community safety, delivered in partnership with YMCA and Vibe
Parr ; youth coordination, MDT support and partnership-led delivery
We are actively planning expansion into additional wards across St Helens.

Why our approach works
Young people tell us the same things matter most: somewhere safe, something to do, and adults who listen.
We focus on:
Consistency - showing up week after week
Trust - relationships built over time
Inclusion - SEND-informed, open-access provision
Youth voice - shaping activity and direction
Learning - capturing insight to improve practice
When these are in place, engagement improves and pressure reduces.
Working in partnership
Reach works alongside local and regional partners including Merseyside Police, St Helens Council, Right to Succeed, Vibe, YMCA, Apollo Active NW, schools and MHST teams, public health and early help services, local businesses and residents.
