Who We Are
Reach Rainhill C.I.C. (REACH) delivers trauma-aware, SEND-inclusive youth work across St Helens. Our approach blends youth work values, clinical oversight, and early intervention, filling the gap between policing, statutory early help, and traditional youth provision.
We work with young people aged 11–18 through:
Detached outreach in streets, parks and public spaces
Safe, inclusive youth spaces
Clinical and SEND-informed support
Partnership coordination and MDT working
Our focus is simple: Relationships first. Enforcement last. Safety always.
How REACH Began; and How It’s Grown
REACH began in Rainhill as a small detached youth project built on consistency, trust and community backing.
What started on the streets grew into weekly Friday night sessions at the 4F Centre, now welcoming around 40 young people each week.
As trust and evidence grew, so did our reach.
We now deliver:
Commissioned detached youth work in St Helens Central, Parr and Rainhill.
A clinically informed coordination role in Parr, supporting MDTs, referrals and partnership-led delivery
Rail network youth engagement through Reach Transit, in partnership with Northern Rail and the OPCC
Each stage of growth has been shaped by local need, evidence, and partnership; with further wards planned.
What We Do
Our practice model is built on three strands:
Reach Out - Detached Youth Work
Streets, parks, town centres
ASB reduction and harm reduction
Trusted-adult presence
Evening and weekend delivery
R Space - Safe, Inclusive Youth Spaces
Currently offer weekly Friday sessions in Rainhill (6:15pm -8:45pm)
Open-access, SEND-inclusive
Belonging, consistency and positive activity
Reach In - Clinical, SEND & Therapeutic Support
Creative therapeutic engagement
Support for siblings of children with SEND
Parent navigation and system support
Clinical oversight at every session
Across all strands we provide:
Trauma-informed practice
Reflective supervision
Safeguarding and risk escalation
Partnership coordination
We reduce pressure by building relationships, not enforcement.
Where We Work
Our delivery has expanded in response to trust, demand and partnership:

Why Our Approach Works
Young people tell us the same things matter most: somewhere safe, something to do, and adults who listen.
We focus on:
Consistency - showing up week after week
Trust - relationships built over time
Inclusion - SEND-informed, open-access provision
Youth voice - shaping activity and direction
Learning - capturing insight to improve practice
When these are in place, engagement improves and pressure reduces.
